We finally landed on Vermont soil and are so happy to be here. We just moved into our home in Putney and are just beginning the process of unpacking and getting to know our area. Glad to be here and looking forward to meeting people and getting out more in our local area.

Re: New to Southern Vermont
Wed, June 28, 2006 - 9:46 AMYou did it!
Congratulations and Welcome! It's not usually this rainy here, honest.
Putney is such a sweet little town. I'm sure you've been to the co-op?
That'll probably end up being a good, ultra-local community resource.

Sat, July 1, 2006 - 6:30 AMThanks for the warm welcome everyone! We've been to both the Putney and Brattleboro Co-Ops and the bookstores and several coffee shops. My daughter is signed up for a few different summer camps and I think I'll hit the Wed. morning Putney playgroup for my son whose still far too little for camps.

Mon, July 3, 2006 - 2:27 PMI also just moved to Putney. :-) I usually work in the Putney Co-op on Fridays. Come in and see me.
Also, Monday night African Dance Class in Bratt. is great...I hold a dark moon/ women's circle every dark moon if you are interested...and Dance Express is the 1st and 3rd Saturdays and it is a fun, free style dance jam with great DJ's.
Also, check out Soujourns in Westminster...an incredible healing center.

Thu, July 13, 2006 - 5:20 PMMy daughter got to go with a friend of ours, but I stayed home with the little one. Perhaps I'll get to go next year.
Side note: Fixit, I noticed you're in the Ernie Pook's Comeek tribe...did you read her novel Cruddy? -

Re: New to Southern Vermont
Fri, July 14, 2006 - 4:24 PMNot yet! How is it?
My latest Barry was One! Hundred! Demons! I liked that it was a little easier on the eyes, but it was also a little lighter and less brutally real, so overall a little less satisfying.
How old are your kids?
Our daughter is five, and her brother just turned one.

Re: New to Southern Vermont
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 2:42 PMHey ShaUna- are you still hosting dark moon/womyn circles? I moved to Bennington last summer, and I am struggling to make connections with like minded womyn and men. If you are still conducting these gatherings, I would love to participate. Please contact me.
I also will probably try the dance express thing you had mentioned- saw an advert for it in the Reformers calendar. Thanks for mentioning that.
I did join the Brattleboro coop, and have been volunteering in hopes of starting to become familiar/friendly with people in this town, as my side of the mountains has not of yet presented me a way to meet many people. Any other ideas any body? -

Re: New to Southern Vermont
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 3:53 PMMy pleasure!
I used to go to the Greenfield MA dances during college and miss them... it's just barely too much of a drive now that we have young children.
Too bad Walpole's been having trouble with their location- that's a nice group there.
What brings you to Putney? -

Re: New to Southern Vermont
Mon, November 5, 2007 - 10:38 AMI am working at the Putney School. Fun times.
They're starting a new dance series in Bratt. Actually it already started. Not as regular as the Greenfield dances but still should be plentiful. =)

Re: New to Southern Vermont
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 1:32 PMI was going to welcome you to Putney but then I realized that your post was made a month before I moved to Putney myself. =) It certainly is a beautiful place here.
