Who knows Lake Willoughby and the great clthing optional beach there on the south side of the lake? I just love that place. It became my spiritual home during my all too brief stay in the Northest kingdom last fall. Does anyone know the status of that house in the tiny state park just above the beach. That was a magical place and I met some verrry interesting people hanging around there. Have a good fouth y'all.

Re: Lake Willoughby
Sun, September 24, 2006 - 9:16 AMHi Druben,
It's a great spot isn't it? I've been going to the south beach of Lake Willoboughy for years. The Chaney house failed to past a number of fire codes when it was inspected last summer. I'm not sure what is going to happen to it, I hope they shell out the money to bring it up to code. -

Re: Lake Willoughby
Wed, September 27, 2006 - 6:35 PMI live about 6 miles south of Willoughby, in West Burke. I went there a lot when my kids were little but they're all grown up now and I never go to the beach unless it's ungodly hot. The clothing optional beach is quite lovely in the way that it is hidden away, barring the occasional drunks and perverts. It is a beautiful lake, no doubt about it. Being so close I guess I take it for granted. -

Thu, September 28, 2006 - 5:11 AMI'm about 30 minute from Lake Willougby...I'm down St. Johnsbury way. I used to visit the south beach pretty regularly, but since earning my scuba license...I seem to spend more time under the water than I do on the beach. -

Re: Lake Willoughby
Fri, January 19, 2007 - 3:49 PMDuring college we would spend the night at the white sand beach. One summer evening we caught 25-30 "crawdads" boiled them over a whisper light stove, mixed in an alfredo sauce and had a wonderful meal. Vermont lobster tails. They were big ones. My great grandfather used to cut ice from the lake to use in the ice shed.....Later
